Myron & E with The Soul Investigators - It's A Shame

Myron and E with the Soul Investigators follow Cold Game – officially 2009’s best single FACT – with It’s A Shame, a more downtempo but no less assured outing which sees Southern grit meet quietly burning funk.

I reckon there’s an echo of Larry Banks and Jaibi’s My Life Is No Better, but maybe that’s just me. You decide. Whatever, it’s a great single and the album’s almost done.

This sounds so authentic I'm not entirely convinced it's new. Still spinning last year's Cold Game which you turned me onto. Just ordered the *new* single over at Stones Throw. Do you know if there's an album in the works? Great videos, btw.

Album "upcoming" according to Timmion. When they're at the top of their game, the Soul Investigators get the authentic old soul sound just right. Check Nicole Willis' If This Ain't Love for more gold.

Never seen a turntable kitted out in Burberry before. Does it drink cider and hassle passers by?

Jaibi's vocal is completely and utterly perfect on that!

Jay - no idea! Perhaps it's got a different cachet in Finland. Brogues - agreed, although by a small margin I prefer The Dynamics version, which you can get on this compilation.
