Daydream

Beach Fossils’ debut single, Daydream, sounds like an outtake from New Order’s Power, Corruption & Lies, stripped of disco accoutrements and made to stare moodily out of the window. Disaffected romantics need look no further for solace.

Warning: the b-side, Desert Sand, contains goth influence, but seeing as their myspace is fleshed out with songs that will have everyone (ok, me) cheering “it’s like the great lost Factory Records album only played by Real Estate!” their forthcoming album is going to be a must-buy.

It's a lovely single! The sleeve is really pretty, too. Maybe I should check out that New Order lp...

Have you got Low-Life? If not, I'd start there. It's in a similar vein to PC&L but, I reckon, better all round.

Yeah, that's the only New Order lp I own. Bought it for that stupendous first track. I suspect that PC&L will be up my street, too.
